From her early adult years, Maureen has always had a keen interest in exploring movement, philosophy and spiritual development. In her early twenties she found a passion for a Japanese Martial Art that introduced her to Traditional Chinese medicine, meditation and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). Teaching was a natural progression to share her passion and knowledge and she operated a studio in Surry Hills, Sydney for 10 years. Maureen has always believed in supporting her students in a holistic manner and encouraging them to be authentic to themselves and following their own journey.

After having children she continued her love of movement and staying fit but felt “something was missing”. She dabbled with attending various yoga classes in the last ten years, but after becoming injured she commenced a regular practice. Yoga felt like “coming home”. The breath, movement, philosophy and spiritual growth ignited a desire to continue learning. This led to completing a 430hr Yoga Teacher Training at Qi Yoga under the tutelage of Mark O’Brien and Joan Miller.

Maureen’s philosophy and journey with yoga has been to show up on your mat, slow down, breathe, move and surrender. She believes that yoga is a personal path of exploration where there is no right or wrong and that every time we come to the mat we have an opportunity to know ourselves better without judgment or comparison. And most important of all, enjoy the journey.
